Awesome cake!

Awesome cake!

Had a fantastic time yesterday playing this old gem of a game with a couple of buddies. It amazes me that a game released back in 1999 it still worth so much fun.
Took a couple minutes for 3 good friends, to suddenly taunt and curse each other over getting railed and eating rockets :)
Can’t recommend Quake 3 Arena ( and ioquake3 ) enough!

3 strikes and you are out Skype!

Sorry Skype, this is your 3rd strike and you are now out!

Skype used to be this rather cool applications that you could use to call and view friends and family around the world. But they have grown too large and too obnoxious.

First strike was back when you decided to complete rewrite the user interface from a nice simpel contactlist to a full fledged application with a million options, buttons and menus. Some people might like it, I don’t, and not even giving me the option to adjust the view to a simple contactlist earns you strike one.

Second strike was the serious security flaw in the Mac version of the Skype client. The issue itself was quite bad, but the real problem was that Skype didn’t do anything for a month and then only made an upgrade that required the user to manually update. A couple of days later Skype finally pushed the fix, but a month for such an issue is unacceptable.

Today while reading the news I stumble upon information that Skype (for windows) install games behind the back of the user. Strike three.

Sorry guys, you used to be cool - what happened?

I have listened to Storm by Tim Minchin at least 20 times. But now there is an animated movie along with this fantastic story :)
